workout

Off to the gym:

For what I am sure will be a killer workout.

I am trying very hard not to be down on myself and negative, but I am struggling with it.  There are times when I absolutely let my unhappiness with my weight dictate my mood.

A great workout will help, and another day of healthy eating.  Frustration no more for today!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.  At some point this weekend when I semi-get-my-life-together, I hope to update and join the masses in stating something I am thankful for each day… so I have some catch up to do.

Happy Satruday!  Go Green!

Yeah, November!

I am happy to report that I am 100% on November workouts so far.

Nevermind that it is only the 2nd… 100% is 100%, and I have all of my workouts scheduled for the entire month.  I just need to work my runs in there and still pick my next race (other than the Turkey Trot 5k).

Hope everyone is having a great Friday, and happy November!

P.s. I think I managed only 1 goal in October, and that was to not weigh in… high five

My body hurts in the best/worst way

It feels so great to be back in the gym.  I got my ass handed to me during a strength training session today.  I felt like my hamstrings and abs were going to explode out of my body.

It kind of sucked because, after a month off, I was not at the level I am used to.  I was spent, tank completely empty, where as I feel like before I could have rocked it harder.  But I will get it back.

It was just great to be sweating so hard working, what felt like, every muscle in my body!

Tomorrow is a run day 🙂

But I promise I won't chew anything

I’m going to need Paul to carry me like this tomorrow…

Such a great day!

Had an amazing, ass-kicking workout at 6 this morning, a great day at work, and a 2 mile run this evening.

I feel great!

I have scheduled my strength training class for tomorrow night after work, and I will just keep it rolling like this 🙂

After a month off, it felt really great to be back in the gym…in that shitty, “I’m dying” type of way.

Hope everyone had a great Monday!

You can do it!

I have been a terrible tumblr friend!

As most of you who read my blog regularly should know, I just started a new job 2 weeks ago.  And let me tell you what: It has Owned. My. Life.

But in a good way.

A work my brain, can’t wait to get to bed at night, exhausting myself, type of way.  But again, it has been great.  I work with an amazing group of people, I am learning a lot, and there is so much room for growth.  It is really very exciting.

With that being said, I have almost completely  taken September off…from everything.  I have only run a handful of times, I have only been to the gym once or twice, and since I was offered my new job and started panicking, I have been eating my feelings (terrible, I know).  But then, I just took eating and losing weight off of my list of stressors.  I just stopped restricting myself and ate whatever I wanted.

It has felt great!

I haven’t let myself go completely, but I just haven’t worried about Paul and me ordering pizza for dinner and then eating dessert, or me having fries with dinner.  Today while I was shaving my legs in the shower, I noticed that I have a stomach roll that wasn’t there about a month ago… but I didn’t freak out.

Tomorrow starts a new month, and now that I am into my routine with work I can head back to the gym, and my play time is over.  My body deserves to go back to the great food I was feeding it before and start treating myself better.  October is going to be “processed free food” month, as well as goal setting time (eg. next marathon, half marathon, tri, crossfit competition). Oh, and no weigh ins allowed.

Again, it is not like I have completely let myself go, it was just a stress free month on that front.  It was also a little bit of a mental check, and it was good to realize that I can still love myself after gaining a few pounds (note that I haven’t actually stepped on the scale, but it is probably 5 or so)… but at the end of the day, I still love myself, and I haven’t lost any worth.

And that is a big step for me.

Hope you are all doing well, and happy October!

Happy Monday!!!

It was an early start to my day due to the commercial shoot at State of Fitness!!!  It is always a lot of fun getting testimonials from our members and hearing how we impact peoples lives, makes me love my job that much more 🙂

We just put this up in the lobby so you can read it as you leave.  LOVE IT!

Now I am fueling for my run with a big ol’ salad… super clean eating until October!

Doing this for sure!

fitvillains:

Came across this interesting WOD from the Spartan Race peeps! It’s ONLY 15 minutes and very SNEAKY: by round 10, your plank may be a-wobblin’. 🙂

This is great as a workout on its own, a warmup or as a ‘finisher’ to your strength routine. It’s 15 minutes total.

10 Rounds

A. 45 seconds jumping rope (high knees, jacks, burpees, running etc. Any cardio will do, at about. Level 7 on a scale of 1-10 for intensity).
B. 45 seconds plank.

Timers: 20 intervals of 45 seconds.
